Cell and Gene Therapy

The development of any cell and gene therapy involves multiple challenges that can lead to failed treatments.

There is a lack of tools to help researchers monitor the cellular status in a predictive way, improving the decision-making process during therapy development.

Cell characterization, vector monitoring and quality assurance through a comprehensive panel of multiple biomarkers can help you address these problems while saving time and money.

Cell Therapies

Cell tracking and characterization:

  • Cells with short telomeres are closer to senescence. Verify that the cells show an optimal telomere lengthimproves the survival of telomeres once infused into a patient.
  • Check that the telomeres of your cells are long enoughto protect stem cell plasticity.
  • Stain and measure specific cells types.Ideal for xenografts, focus on different cell populations, origins, etc.
  • Determine cell infiltration and specific cell-type markers(mTOR, PD1-PDL1, ILs…)

Donor/sample selection:

  • Ensure that you start your cell expansions/processing with the best samples.

Biosafety:

  • Hyperactivatedtelomerase activity is a hallmark of cancer. Monitor telomerase activity to discard potential tumorigenicity after cellular expansions or modifications. and many other benefits of any product, directly into human cells.

Gene therapy

Cells are widely used in gene therapy for multiple purposes. Evaluate cellular status after introducing modifications throughtelomere length and other important markers.

Monitor everything around the expression of your gene therapy

  • Confirm and quantify the expression of the gene editing system on your target population
  • Compare and select the vector with the most optimal response
  • Asses viral tropism and the successful delivery of the desired gene
  • Distinguish transgene from vector genome ensuring the transfer of the desired gene

APPLIED EXAMPLES

Select best donor.

Cells with longer telomeres will take more time to achieve senescence.

Monitor your expansion and how far are cells from senescence.

Frequently asked questions

What type of samples can we test?2022-06-08T12:26:16+02:00

We can process any type of cell or tissue: MSCs, iPSCs, T cells, NK cells, xenografts, biopsies, blood, etc. We can also measure specific cell types and targets within the same sample, e.g.: CD3+, PDL1 /PD1, differentiate mouse and human cells, etc.

How is the Logistics process?2022-06-08T12:24:46+02:00

We receive samples from all over the world, every day. It is a very easy process and we will happily guide you through it.

How robust are the measurements?2022-06-08T12:23:36+02:00

We follow very strict quality controls. As an example, for our proprietary TAT technology:

  • Clinically validated.
  • Measurements performed in quintuplicates.
  • Seven control cell lines.
  • Intra-assay coefficient < 5%.
  • More than 10.000 individual telomeres measured.
What type of assays can we perform?2022-06-08T12:20:27+02:00

Despite being experts on telomere biology, we routinely perform measurements of hundreds of other biomarkers. Additionally, we can develop protocols for markers that are currently not on our portfolio. Let us know of your needs.

What information do we need from your samples?2022-06-08T12:16:00+02:00

We understand that our clients want to protect their intellectual property. We do not require any confidential information from your side and we will assign specific codes for identifying your samples in the lab to guarantee their blinding.
